New World Interactive is looking for a Quality Performance Analyst to join our team! Our QA team is the last line of defense against bugs and performance issues in our games. The Performance Analyst will help to ensure our games meet performance expectations. If you’re someone with a keen eye for detail, relentless dedication, enthusiasm about data, and have a strong understanding of the graphical limits of Unreal Engine 4 we want to hear from you!

What a Performance Analyst will do:

  • Use Unreal performance profiling tool, Stats Profiler, to isolate performance issues across all aspects of game development
  • Analyze and aggregate performance data to draw clear conclusions of performance issues while satisfying development stakeholder requirements
  • Work with development to define performance benchmarks, while building test and reports to reinforce agreements
  • Isolate performance issues and effectively report and communicate core problems to stakeholders
  • Develop a long-term position, specializing in engine performance analysis while mentoring Analysts and Developers alike
  • Perform Data Gathering, Wrangling, and Munching from all available data sources, to improve test coverage and performance awareness throughout QA
  • Use skills in programming or scripting within the Unreal 4 Engine to develop test support aids
  • Seek to continuously improve test processes (root cause analysis, correction, and preventions)
  • Follow up on bug-fixing efforts with developers to ensure proper closure and resolution of discovered and existing issues
  • Build and execute Automation, Acceptance, Functional, and Performance tests
  • Routinely identify and attribute the timeframe and root cause of difficult-to-detect and track bugs, including game engine editor review

If you’re interested, you’ll need these skills or experiences:

  • 2+ years of 3D game development experience of AAA or performant demanding titles
  • Programming or Scripting skills capable of parsing large sums of data
  • Passion for gaming and quality, more specifically; an interest in QA as a career
  • Unreal 4 Engine experience pertaining to performance or Technical Art
  • Experienced development with gaming platforms such as PC, Xbox, and Playstation
  • Ability to prioritize and work independently, as well as in a team environment
  • Proven track record of successful contributions to the release of high-quality products

Additional skills or experiences that will move you up in the stack-ranking for considerations are:

  • Familiarity with Jira, Perforce, and UE4 Profiling tools are an asset
  • Familiarity with certification test processes such as TRC/XR requirements for Gen8 and Gen9 consoles
  • Programming languages such as C++, Unreal 4 Blueprint, C# or SQL, Python or HTML/Javascript
