Are you a passionate gamer who finds themselves considering how things could be sped up every time you sit at a loading screen? Do you have a natural inclination to really commit to squeezing just a little more optimization out of everything you do? Are you militant about getting 60fps at all times? If so, NWI has a perfect opportunity for you!
Who You'll Work With
Every day, a community with tens of thousands of gamers plays Insurgency, Day of Infamy, and Insurgency: Sandstorm. Our studio is dedicated to crafting the world’s most loved tactical playgrounds, in these games, and in new ones.
The Quality Assurance Team has the responsibility of partnering with all the diverse talent on the project to ensure what they deliver meets our collective expectation of quality. A Performance Developer works closely with the Code team, Technical Art team, and Design team to help meet their needs to maintain the desired level of performance through the use of profiling, reporting, and benchmarking.
If the idea of collaborating with every department to define performance and then helping them achieve it sounds exciting, this is the role for you!
What You'll Do
We need a Performance Developer who can own performance for our new multi-platform (PC/Console) game. You will need to use various performance and profiling tools to isolate performance issues and then effectively report and communicate core problems to relevant team members; analyze and aggregate performance data to draw clear conclusions about performance while satisfying development requirements; and work with other teams to define performance targets, while supporting the maintenance of those targets and benchmarks with automated tests and reports.
Who You Are
You are passionate about video games and making them perform. You like to deconstruct the technical elements of a game to figure out how it works and then come up with ways to optimize them. Your previous experiences with the entire development lifecycle of games from concept and prototyping to launch and live operations will provide you the resources to succeed. You have the ability to prioritize work independently and in a team environment.
