The Community Manager is the face of the studio and works tirelessly to improve social presence, build user engagement, and strengthen the communication and relationship between the company and the community. As the Community Manager you will advocate for the community and foster an inclusive and healthy, thriving community that extends beyond posts on social media. You will also be the creative mind behind content such as social posts, live streams, blogs, and surveys. It's up to you to gauge the temperature of how our community feels, translate that to relevant feedback for the team, and to disseminate information about upcoming releases to the player base.

What a Community Manager will do:

  • Create sentiment reports based on community feed that will help them optimize the game accordingly
  • Live stream major marketing beats to the community in an exciting and engaging way
  • Represent the stated community needs to the Development Team and Marketing
  • Define and deploy the Community Marketing Strategy for Insurgency: Sandstorm 
  • Shape a community-focused marketing effort to supplement other publisher (FHI) marketing activities
  • Create, in collaboration with Development teams, assets such as video blogs, podcasts, interviews, annotated screenshots and game tips and tricks
  • Communicate as a spokesperson for the New World Interactive
  • Define and report on content KPI’s to demonstrate success and ROI of community programs and content (increased viewership, retention and engagement with content)
  • Coordinate communication, activities and initiatives with multiple global departments for consistent and cohesive messaging
  • Coordinate within Marketing and Development to produce blog content and other development team assets for community, as applicable
  • Manage post launch support communication in conjunction with Marketing and Production to set expectations on applicable situations such as patch content, crisis management, status and content delivery
  • Actively develop and manage report internally on community feedback to improve final product
  • Coordinate events involving studio visits from fans, chats with Development Team, and tournament support

  • Ability to move comfortably between strategies and detailed execution
  • Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong motivator, both within the team and across the organization, empowering people to learn and grow
  • Ability to utilize data-driven insights to guide decisions
  • An excellent record of work performance and attendance
  • Self-managing, with high standards for success rather than needing standards to be imposed externally
  • Effective conflict resolution skills in antagonistic or otherwise stressful situations
  • Ability to maintain integrity of performance under pressure, change, or job ambiguity
  • Ability to provide and receive feedback in a professional manner

Additional skills or experiences that will move you up in the stack-ranking for consideration are: 

  • Experience working on an online first-person shooter
  • Experience creating and executing communication strategies
  • Shipped at least one title in the gaming industry Experience navigating your way around Confluence and Jira
  • Experience building and developing engaged and positive communities
  • Knowledge of and experience with social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Discord, Reddit
  • Knowledge of Jira and Confluence
  • Experience streaming and engaging with a live audience
