Are you a killer technical Artist who specializes in animation, rigs and game engines? Are you experienced in 3D development and pipelines? Got something to show the world?  If so, New World Interactive might be the place for you! We are looking for a Senior Technical Animator to join our animation team. The Senior Technical Animator acts as a bridge between the artists and programmers, ensuring the art content and features are easily integrated into the game while respecting the artistic vision and technical constraints of the project. Your role is to support the content production art teams in achieving top-quality results within the context of the project. You will work closely with the animation and programming team to help to implement art features and new technologies in the project.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement systems to create best-in-class game animation
  • Transfer animation data from Maya to workable in-game animations
  • Offer technical support to the animation team in day-by-day production issues
  • Create and maintain technical documentation
  • Share with the other artists best practices and new tools

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-years game industry experience, with at least 1-shipped AA or AAA title
  • Excellent understanding of Unreal Engine and its animation capabilities
  • Experience creating advanced animation graphs for characters
  • Experience cleaning up motion capture data for use in the game engine
  • Intermediate rigging experience in Maya
  • Intermediate scripting knowledge in Python
  • Understanding of anatomy and how it influences art production
  • Understanding of animation principles
  • Knowledge and interest in the following areas are a plus:
    • Traditional keyframe animation
    • Unreal sequencer
    • C++ Experience
    • Console Experience
    • Blender - Rigging/Scripting
    • Houdini
  • The number and variety of tech-art areas of interest in your past activity is also important
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Fluency in English
