 Are you an up-and-coming killer 3D artist who specializes in world-building? Have you been learning and have an interest in 3D development and pipelines? Got something to show the world? If so, New World Interactive might be the place for you! We are looking for a Junior Environmental Artist to help create high-quality and detailed levels. We believe collaboration is key to a successful game and have built an environment that will allow creativity and freedom to do your best work. This is a full-time, permanent position within the Art Team where you can focus on what you love.

What a Junior Environmental Artist will do:

  • Work together with the Level Art and Design Team and the Creative Director to create appealing Environments.
  • Create game-ready assets given technical and level design limitations.
  • Create highpoly and lowpoly models.
  • Create modular asset sets.
  • Worldbuilding / set dressing believable environments in Unreal Engine.
  • Ensure the technical and artistic quality of the project by collaborating with Leads and Seniors.

    If you’re interested, you’ll need these skills or experiences:

    • Modelling skills using preferably Maya or Max/Blender and sculpting in Zbrush.
    • A strong ability to create believable modular environments within a games engine.
    • Ability to derive a well-structured lowpoly model from the high poly model.
    • Good understanding of efficient UV layout utilizing trim textures, modular level kits creation methods, worldbuilding / set dressing and optimization.
    • A good understanding of PBR workflow, Substance Painter and Designer skills.
    • A passion for games.
    • Positive team-oriented attitude.
    • Be proactive and self-motivated.

    Portfolio Requirements:

    • A portfolio demonstrating the creation of modular level kits and trim textures.
    • Understanding of game engines, tools, pipelines, performance-optimization constraints and development processes.
    • Understanding of light, shade, color and detail when creating game materials, models and final scenes.

    Additional skills or experiences that will move you up in the stack-ranking for considerations are:

    • Time spent in a live product development.
    • Traditional art skills such as drawing, painting and sculpting are a plus.
    • An interest or love of military aesthetics.
    • Experience in Unreal Engine.
