New World Interactive is an award-winning game studio dedicated to crafting exciting tactical playgrounds. Our best-in-class artists, animators and developers have led us to success in creating games like Insurgency, Insurgency: Sandstorm, and Day of Infamy.
We are a medium-sized remote-first studio that actively values a cohesive culture, happiness, teamwork, creativity, and an inclusive work environment where all individuals have an opportunity to succeed. We are currently working towards launching our newest tactical hardcore shooter game. As we set out to explore new horizons, we are growing our Tech Art team and are seeking a Technical Artist.
Your Mission Objectives:
Our Technical Artists work in areas such as optimization, tool development, shader creation, lighting and VFX pipelines to maintain and improve workflow and performance as we execute our artistic vision within the technical constraints of the project.
- Maintain and improve our tools
- Help to develop processes and pipelines that range from asset creation to in-game optimization.
- Offer technical support to the art team in day-to-day production issues
- Create and maintain technical documentation
- Be part of feedback and review cycles that improve our quality and effectiveness
- Work with both code and art as a bridge between the disciplines
- Bring your ideas and your experience to the team to help us make better games and to be an even better place to work
Mission Critical Skills:
- Prior experience working as a Technical Artist within a game development environment
- Experience working with Unreal (or other well-known game engines)
- Scripting in Python
- An understanding of the fundamentals of creating art for 3D games
- An Interest in exploring new workflows and ideas
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- The ability to work well within a team
Bonus XP if You Have These!
- Previous experience creating tools within the Unreal ecosystem
- Familiarity with Substance, Z-brush, leading 3D packages
- Experience developing games for consoles
